Rose & Family at Ladysmith Equestrian

A couple of years ago I used to have lessons at Ladysmith Equestrian with the lovely Rose. One of the times I came to her I had recently lost my confidence after a fall on a friend’s horse and she helped get me back in the saddle.

It was a family affair, with husband John, Cardigan Corgi Sage, Jack Russell pup Nell and horses Raffi, Ralph and Winston all involved in the shoot.

We started in the stunning stable block, with the handsome Winston as our first equine model. He has been their star Riding School horse and was the perfect poser!

Raffi and Ralph (a bit confusing – John and Rose said just to call them the chestnut one and the black one!) were next up to pose – when shooting multiple horses, I like to keep rotating them so no one gets bored or upset if one is away for too long. Although all three horses were perfectly behaved during our 2hrs together!

Rose & John are fortunate to live right next to the yard in their beautiful home they built a few years ago, with stunning views of the Ridgeway in the distance. So it was essential we captured a shot that really showed them at home with the horses.

This shoot was an absolute joy from start to finish and I am delighted that Rose and John were so pleased with the results and now have beautiful memories that will hang in pride of place in their home.
