Millie & Lollie at Wadley Manor House

On a glorious sunny day in May, I headed to Faringdon, Oxfordshire, for a beautiful shoot with Millie and her gorgeous bay mare, Lollie. Millie and Lollie have been a partnership for 3yrs and regularly compete in British Showjumping competitions.

She is based at Wadley Manor Stables, on an old fashioned yard (it used to be for the carriage horses) just off to the side of the impressive Wadley Manor. Wadley Manor is one of the oldest manor houses in the UK and has played host to nobility and even royalty since it was first built in the 1400s. We were very lucky to be granted access to the grounds to capture some really special shots in front of the main house.

Millie told me that Lollie has a penchant for stepping on her Mum’s toes so we stuck with sensible footwear and made use of logs, walls and benches to get cuddly, close shots whilst keeping safe. Fortunately, Lollie was foot perfect and was very happy to pose and make sure we got her best side.

Millie’s Mum made an excellent assistant on the shoot, working very hard to get ears forward – even utilising a tennis ball to get Lollie’s attention!

Enjoy looking through some highlights from our shoot:
