The evening sunshine was utterly beautiful for my shoot with Deia, Tilly and Cola. Tilly is a 16hh show jumper and the most stunning blue/dappled grey and Cola is a 4yr old mare who Deia described as ‘like a Labrador’ so I knew we would instantly get on! Deia was selling Cola the following Monday so we were perfectly timed to capture some special memories before she went to her new home. We were spoilt for choice with locations, from grass gallops to an enchanting woodland. Deia’s very adorable dog Bluebell also tagged along and had a few photos of her own!
We started on the cowslip-lined drive outside of the stables where Tilly & Cola were kept, keeping the horses close to each other so they didn’t get too upset while one of them enjoyed the limelight!
Then we went for a walk along the gallops, stopping as we went round, utilising the lush green of spring foliage and flowers in full bloom.
We got to a forested area where the evening sunshine was absorbed by thick trees, creating dramatic moments. It was like finding a fairy princess and her unicorn hiding in the woods!
I could have just kept shooting as we were so blessed with the light, but we finished the shoot in the field with Deia & Tilly enjoying a quiet moment together.
