Meet your photographer

I thought it was about time I re-introduced myself to all of you lovely people! Usually you only get to see the faces of all of my amazing clients and I am rarely in front of the camera (which is how I like it haha!). 

However, I think it is time to say hi face to face (so to speak) and share a few facts about me…

🇿🇼Most of my family are Zimbabwean (I am the only one in my family who was born in the UK!) and our trips back to Africa have been my favourite holidays. On my bucket list is to go on a horse-back safari. 

📸My whole family are keen photographers (and all Nikon owners). The competition for the best holiday photos becomes super serious in our household! My first DSLR was a hand-me-down from my grandparents and my family have been so supportive of my photography journey. 

✍️I am also an artist – I specialise in pet portraits in pencil and watercolour taking limited commissions a year. You check out my work on my instagram art page here. 

🥴I hate being photographed. I much prefer holding a camera to my face over being the subject. I get nervous, clammy and forget how to smile (think Chandler in Friends 😬). This is why I focus so much on making my client’s feel super comfortable in front of the camera. 

🎓I have a First Class Honours degree in Equine Management from the Royal Agricultural University. It was very different to the typical university experience, but I wouldn’t have changed it for the world!

🐎I started off as an events manager in polo, working at Cirencester Polo Club and Beaufort Polo Club. Polo was where I got my first commissions and sales and I still photograph the occasional polo match. 

♥️I never thought I would be a professional photographer. For a long time I thought I would become a vet (but my desire to be creative and Chemistry A Level said no), but it wasn’t until I met the amazing Hannah Freeland and Emily Hancock of the Training Barn that I realised I could make my dream a reality.
