Making the most of lockdown

2020 has thrown up some rather big hurdles in ways no one was expecting. It has been devastating to watch events cancelled, businesses close their doors and people suffer. It has also brought wonderful displays of community and love, offering us all hope for the world that will be left behind when this is all over.

I think it is important to remember that just because you haven’t become a yoga guru or learnt 12 new languages in lockdown does not mean you have failed. I for one have struggled massively with motivation with such turmoil in the outside world. Being separated from your loved ones and worried about the future does not lend well to inspiration in my opinion. I focused on taking each day step by step, enjoying my daily exercise with the dog and solidly persevering with Netflix. Once the initial shock had worn off, I started exploring what I could do to make the most out of something we may never get again – time and society standing still. After much baking of banana bread I completed my first painting commission (still a secret so can’t reveal yet!) and took my camera out to capture some of the gorgeous Spring weather we have been treated to.

I started work on this website, having been putting it off for ages. My previous website was in need of a complete revamp and thanks to Elly from Biteinto.net I managed to put together something that better matched my style. It has allowed me to explore my style and what I want to create with my photography and art.

I wish everyone the best during this difficult time and look forward to being on the other side of this.
